My instructor wants me to do a PowerPoint or Slides presentation in MLA format. How do I do that?
Answer
While you can't really create a Powerpoint in MLA style, we recommend doing it this way--
The MLA Handbook does not provide specific instructions on how to format a PowerPoint presentation; however, many college libraries recommend the following:
- Title slide: Include the same information you would on the first page of an MLA paper (title, your name, instructor name, course name, date).
- Include in-text citations for any quote, paraphrase, image, graph, table, data, audio or video file that you use within your presentation.
- The last slide will be your work cited list.
We have a guide that shows you how to set up in-text citations and a works cited page, and we're happy to take a look and help you when you're ready! Look at this to get you more familiar with MLA formatting of in-text citations and your works cited.
